Accidental activation

If you accidentally activate your beacon, immediately contact RCCNZ on either of the following:

  • +64 4 577 8030
  • 0508 472 269
  • Maritime Radio VHF CH16 or SSB frequencies

This will ensure that a search and rescue operation is not launched needlessly. 

Keep the beacon switched on until instructed to turn it off, even if you are unable to make contact with us.

There is no charge or fee for accidental activation.
